The Effect of Reminiscence Intervention on the Elderly Population: a Systematic Review

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of reminiscence therapy on cognitive disorder in elders. We established the PICO-SD, reviewed 1761studies from database of RISS, NDSL, DBpia, National Assembly Library, KoreaMed, KMbase, KSI KISS, KCI, and finally selected 18 studies based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria. With regard to research places were elderly care center, seniors welfare center etc and intervention periods ranged from 4 to 30 weeks. In addition, outcome variables were cognitive function, depression, quality of life etc. Reminiscence intervention appears to be effective in improving health for elders.
